Fellowship Bible Church Dallas

Discipleship

Our mission at Fellowship Dallas is “to lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.” That is our way of saying that we are committed to making disciples—or students and followers—of Jesus Christ as He instructs us to in Matthew 28:18-20:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

The First Step

The first step to becoming a disciple of Jesus is to believe that He is the Son of God and to trust in Him to save you from your sins, reconcile you to God and give you eternal life. You do this by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Savior and Lord. In so doing, you become a child of God and a member of God’s family of fellow believers.

Starting Point

If you are considering this first step (or have already taken it) and want to know more about how your story fits into God’s story, Starting Point is a great group for you.  Starting Point is an ideal experience for those who are interested in what Christianity says about God, Jesus, and the Bible.  Whether you are new in your faith, in a season of doubt, or simply curious about Jesus Christ you are welcome to join this conversational group.  The next Starting Point group starts on February 17 at 9:30am in room 204A.  The cost for materials is $15 per person and runs through April 28. Scholarships are available. For questions and more information, contact Caleb Crutchfield at 972-852-4155.

Baptism

Another important step in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ is baptism. At Fellowship we practice what is often called "believer's baptism." We believe that baptism is a symbolic, public, visible demonstration of an invisible, inner work of God when a person is indwelt by the Holy Spirit at the point of conversion. For this reason, we only baptize people who have consciously placed their trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Before a person can be baptized, we require each participant to complete an application and to attend a brief baptism orientation the week before the service. Click here to sign up for baptism. For specific dates and information about baptisms, please contact Randy Thompson at 972-852-4157.
