HISTORY

In the summer of 1977, our church began its formation under the leadership of Dr. Gene Getz whose goal was to lead a group of people to begin a bible church in Dallas. The group’s vision was to bring a relational, contemporary church to the North Dallas/Park Cities area. The first service was held on Sunday evening, October 9, 1977, and became known as Fellowship Bible Church Park Cities.

In the summer of 1980, Fellowship Park Cities moved to a newer facility on Boedeker Street, south of NorthPark Mall. The church underwent leadership changes and challenges in overcoming debt from acquiring the new property. Eventually, they finished the transition and began to thrive under the guidance of new leadership for the 120-person congregation.

In the 80’s and ‘90s, the church experienced continued growth and eventually purchased an office complex at Meadow Lane and Central Expressway. This complex was renovated into a church, and in August 1993, the name was changed to Fellowship Bible Church Dallas.

In 2004, the church purchased the former United Artists Plaza on Central at Park Lane and renovated it throughout 2005. In March 2006, Fellowship moved into its new home and currently meets at this location.

After almost 40 years, and with approximately 3,000 people calling Fellowship Dallas their church home today, the commitments to God’s grace, sound biblical teaching, and authentic community remain foundational. Though we’ve undergone significant change over the years with transitions to new locations, new leadership and new vision, something that has not changed is our deep desire to proclaim the Gospel of God’s amazing grace to each other and into the surrounding neighborhoods, the city of Dallas, and the world.
