I grew up in Lancaster, TX, the daughter of a farmer and former home economics teacher. It was there at the age of 15 that I asked Christ into my life. From there I went to Baylor where I got my undergraduate degree in Math Education. While there I was involved with YoungLife and at Pine Cove where I worked three summers.
After college, I moved to Dallas and began going to Fellowship Bible Church Arapaho. I began going to Fellowship Bible Church Park Cities when they planted it (now known as Fellowship Dallas). After a few years of teaching high school math, I moved to Breckenridge, Colorado for a year where I worked part-time for Breckenridge Christian Ministries and part-time in retail. After a year, it was evident that living there was not great for making a living so I returned to Dallas where I got a job as an actuarial assistant at an actuarial firm. While doing that went to SMU where I received my MBA. Also, after more actuarial exams than I want to think about, I became and enrolled actuary.
After 16 years there, I was approached by Fellowship to quit my job, take a pay cut, and become their Finance Director. After agonizing over the decision, I opened the bulletin the next Sunday morning where the title of the sermon was “It’s Time for a Change”. I looked up at God and said, “OK, I think You’re talking to me”! I have been the Finance Director here since December 1997, and have loved working here doing what God uniquely designed me to do.
