Josh Carroll Life Groups Pastor
My Story:
I was six when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior while visiting my Aunt and Uncle in California. Later, I rededicated my life to him at the age of 14. While completing my bachelor’s in criminal justice, I experienced an intensely personal call to ministry. It’s been a completely unpredictable journey through the ups and downs of church ministry ever since. Before accepting the position of life groups pastor here at Fellowship, my family (wife Melodie and three boys) and I lived in Scotland for four and a half years, where I was able to complete my PhD at the University of Aberdeen. Living in the UK was a great experience full of football (soccer), rain, the freezing cold, and embracing the Scottish culture. Moving to Dallas has been a great experience, although it is a bit warmer here.

My Purpose:
The two words that explain my God-given Purpose are “forging contexts.” I think this describes my unique calling to create space and place where the Holy Spirit can move and work. Whether I am teaching, leading, or facilitating, this is always on my mind when I engage in any sort of ministry. I’m convinced that God wants to use me to minister, study, teach, and write, and I’m excited that I’ll get to use those gifts and passions to help develop our Life Groups and Life Group Leaders.

My Job:
In my role as life groups pastor, I’m privileged to lead the Life Group Team as we develop our groups system, train and coach leaders, and pastorally support our Life Groups. I’m also heavily involved in developing our Men’s Equipping Ministry. As we head into the future, I’m excited to see what God is going to do with our church!
