I was born in the Chicagoland area but did most of my growing up in Florida. It was there I met the Roberts brothers, an Egyptian and African-American duo who captured the imagination of my seven-year-old self. They invited me into their home where I discovered this family, one characterized by joy and peace, had adopted the two of them out of dire circumstances. Over time I came to understand that Jesus was their inspiration to do such a thing and to live in such a way. I began attending church with them, becoming captivated by the truth of our Savior, and ultimately came to faith in Christ.
My own family started going to church again and I spent my youth and college years as a practicing Catholic. Unfortunately, by the time I moved to Dallas in 1998, my faith had grown stagnant, and my life was drifting further and further away from Jesus. Thankfully, that same year included the providential meeting of a beautiful, evangelical girl named Martha, who invited me to her “rock-n-roll church” called Fellowship Dallas. It was here where I rediscovered the grace of God and my identity in him.
Over the last two decades, God has grown me in so many ways—in my faith, in my family (I married Martha and we have three sons: Christian, Luke, and Joseph), and in my vocation. After an eighteen-year business career, God saw fit to move me into vocational ministry. I am humbled and overjoyed to be leading the church that played such a central role in me falling in love with Jesus.
My two words are Mobilizing Delight. I love to get after a goal and take new ground, to activate others to significantly contribute to our success, and to have a blast together all along the way. I also want to help reignite the stagnant faith of so many in the church today, rekindling the tremendous joy of knowing our Savior.
As Lead Pastor, my job is to cast the vision, lead the charge, and teach the Word, encouraging and equipping our people to live a life centered on Jesus.
