I am a 53 year old West Coast native who moved to Dallas four years ago and enjoys living in the “M Streets”, cycling, music and photography. I am the son of Dutch parents who immigrated to Canada after WWII, later immigrating to Los Angeles, where I was born. Before Junior High, we moved to Oregon where I graduated from the University of Oregon (1985). I came to saving faith in high school and have been involved in Bible Study Fellowship as a Discussion Leader and group member for the last 10 years. I truly believe the study of the Bible is central to transforming every believer. My wife Tracy and I have always been involved in small groups throughout our 30 years of marriage, and have been leading the “Next Best Thang Gang” Life Group at FBCD for the past three years. I have also been a Discussion Group Leader in Bible Study Fellowship for 3-1/2 years.
Tracy and I began attending Fellowship the Sunday we moved here and never left! We have enjoyed serving as Greeters and Connecting Team Hub Hosts. We travelled with church members last year to Greece and Turkey, and are so thankful to have enjoyed the Israel trip just a few weeks ago. Our Life Group has been a place where we have found new friendships, prayer and service together and are so thankful for this diverse community. We have grown in the study of the Word and understanding of God through our Tuesday nights together. I can’t emphasize enough the value and blessing of experiencing community within a Life Group.
It’s my prayer that through the Spirit’s leading, the Elders can continue to move Fellowship forward to do the work God is calling us to do in our homes and community. I’m humbled to be called to this work, and feel confident that the God who calls, enables.
